Animal Ethics Committees – Nong Lam University (AECs) is the first committees in Vietnam in the veterinary and animal science to advise for using animal in research and education. It was found on June 14, 2019 by the Rector if Nong Lam University to regulate the animal use for those puroses in the university and also outside. This is a emerge demend for veterinary and animal science in Vietnam in the development and integration of the field internationally. The main responsibilities of the committees are
- to provide information for professional and public participation in the regulation of animal research,
- to approve and monitor research using animal, including carrying out inspections of animals and facilities
- to recommend to the organization to stop inappropriate research and to discipline researchers
- to advise animal research establishments on the changes to physical facilities that should be made to provide for the needs of the animals used,
- to provide guidance and support to researchers on animal welfare, through means such as the preparation of guidelines and scientific literature.
